While Phoonk was a debacle at the box office, Ram Gopal Varma is still going ahead with its sequel. While he wanted to cast Mallika Sherawat in Phoonk 2, he had to go with Punjabi actress Neeru Bajwa instead. The film is being directed by Milind Gadagkar, who was an associate of Ramu in Phoonk.

Neeru was chosen after a newcomer, Adin, shot for the film for about two days or so. She threw a lot of tantrums and annoyed Ramu who then replaced her with Neeru.

The news was confirmed by Neeru who didn't divulge any more details.

The actress who is Vivek Oberoi's latest muse was asked if he was behind her getting a role in Ramu's film but she retaliated back saying that tomorrow someone will say that Vivek recommended her to Dharma Productions just because he is doing Kurbaan.
