'De Dana Dan' is igniting the heat and it is obvious that the last minute promotional blitzkrieg is helping the film's cause.
While Akshay Kumar and other cast members of this Priyadarshan directed film are going all out to ensure that 'De Dana
Dan' reaches out to it's target audiences, the actor is also keeping himself abreast of movies that his contemporaries are
doing.
A week before and after 'De Dana Dan' come 'Kurbaan' and 'Paa' respectively. Moreover, before the end of year also comes
'3 Idiots'. Which is the film that is exciting Akshay?
"Ah... You have got me there. They are all very touching stories", smiles Akshay as he pauses for a moment before
announcing his choices, "I have heard that 'Kurbaan' is very good so I am waiting to get a chance to see that.
Their passion is so intriguing and this movie is right up Kareena's street. But '3 Idiots' is a film I have been waiting
to see for over a year now. I have heard the script and I think it's a cracker. Only Aamir can beat his own records."
How about records for his own films? This year we have already seen him in 'Chandni Chowk To China', '8X10 Tasveer',
'Kambakkth Ishq' and 'Blue'.
Before the year ends, there would be 'De Dana Dan' while next year we would see
him in 'Housefull', 'Action Replay', 'Khatta Meetha' and 'Patiala House' at the minimum. With such flurry of movies that
should be releasing soon, what it is that keeps him going as an actor?
"I get very excited about other people's movies. It's great to step back and just enjoy what my industry is making", says
Akshay who is an avid movie watcher himself and is a regular on most of the Fridays, "I have a memory like that of an
elephant.
I remember every one's first movie and like to see their latest movies and watch how they have matured
over a period of time."
Continuing in the same vein, he adds, "All my heroines who were so innocent and angelic are now superstars on their own.
Watching these newcomers come up and whip the carpet from under us ‘mature' actors is strangely revitalizing.
I
am constantly being kept on my toes with talent and hits happening all around me. I can't help but love the chase. The
incentive to keep trying is always there."
