All of you who want to become THE Madhuri Dixit, raise your hands. Don't worry you're not alone. Antara Mali is one of the aspirants too. She is playing Chutki, a die-hard Madhuri fan, in Ram Gopal Verma's next venture, 'Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon'. Though the name seems like a misfit for a Verma film, it depicts the yearning of millions of Madhuri fans, who are trying to emulate the screen goddess.
Chtuki is a village belle who has won over many hearts with her Madhuri acts. Raja (Rajpal Yadav) is just one of them. He is secretly in love with her for the woman she is and not the woman she is trying to become. Her dreams sees the ray of light when ultimate dream is to conquer the Bollywood just like her mentor.
Chutki's dream come to reality when Raja suggests a marriage of convenience and a move to Mumbai. He is ecstatic about the arrangement as it's his chance to show his love for the girl.
But the dream turn sour as they go through the harsh realities of the tinsletown. Chutki has to go through every possible trials and tribulation of a struggling actress. Her confidence starts to shake and she realises that in a city of dreams, hers might just remain a dream.
MMDBCH is relying heavily on it's storyline. It's a film for Antara where she can display her histrionics to the core. Whether she'll be able to deliver the goods, remains to be seen. Looking at Verma's previous track record, a film to watch out for.
