Despite giving him a clean chit, the Uttar Pradesh government is likely to cancel the licence of the hotel in which Bollywood actor Aamir Khan had stayed on a false identity during his 'secret' visit to Varanasi for
promotion of his forthcoming film '3 idiots'.
Amir Khan had stayed at a hotel in Mugalsarai, in Chandauli district which is adjacent to Varanasi. The hotel management is charged with getting in the guest without checking his identity.
''The state goernment has issued a show-cause notice to Saraswati Hotel in Mugalsarai as to why their licence should not be cancelled for accomodating Aamir Khan and his group with fake identity, '' said State
Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Brijlal here today.
However, the ADG said no action would be taken against the actor as he had committed no crime.
Meanwhile, state Director General of Police Karamveer Singh has issued fresh directives to all the districts of the state to ensure accurate ID proof of all the guests before giving them rooms in any hotels, guest houses
and dharamshalas.
