Vijay Lalwani who has donned all the hats of that of director, script, screenplay and dialogue writer in his debut venture Karthik Calling Karthik is on cloud 9. He is more than happy to have Farhan Akhtar and Deepika Padukone in his first film. Especially, Deepika whose presence in the film is like a dream come true for him.

Confesses Vijay, "I was very scared to approach Deepika initially for I was very well aware of star stature and her films with top-notch actors like Shahrukh Khan, Akshay Kumar. However, Farhan pushed me to approach her and I narrated the story to her which she liked it and readily agreed to do the film."

"I never even in my dreams had thought that I would have Deepika in my first project. And now that she is the leading lady of my first ever film, I feel extremely fortunate."

Karthik Calling Karthik is a romantic-thriller and Farhan and Deepika will for the first time share the screen space together. The movie is slated to release on February 26.
