Bollywood filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt has teamed up with London-based film producer Sevy Ali of Asian Pictures International to produce a Bollywood film starring Pakistani actress Meera.
The film will be written and co-produced by Mahesh Bhatt. Filming starts in April this year, a spokesperson of Bhatt said today.
Another venture on the cards is Bhatt's project with Ali to make an "audacious" film on Partition trauma.
Bhatt says his project is essentially a "South Asian Schindler's List", centred on a Muslim who saved Hindus during the communal carnage of 1947. "Another partition film but this one will have a new take".
With the Indo-Pakistan relations showing signs of improvement, Bollywood is also looking forward to better ties with Pakistan's film industry.
