"Archana stands for the true essence that, luxury lies in celebrating the Indian wedding. I like to the way she uses colours and jeweled embroideries to add that extra elegance and opulence to her bridal designs. It was a pleasure being associated with her, " said Amrita after the show.
It was an unconventional bridal collection in all its glittering glory that was seen on Day 3 of the fashion week.
There was an explosion of rustic Indian wedding feel in its purest ethnic form as Archana unveiled her bridal extravaganza called ‘Jalsa', a celebration of saturated Indian colours like haldi yellow, kumkum red, rani pink, parrot green, jamun and gulmour orange.
The mélange of textural fabrics like crushed georgette, silks, brocade, luxe velvets were magically transformed into elaborate kali saris, classic lehengas, sensual choli's, fluid duppata's perfect for Desert Princess of Regal Indiana.
Fine detailing of fabric textures, trinkets, pompom gota borders highlighted this line for modern cerebral neo-bride. Glamour appeared on the ramp in large doses for the bride as the opulent saris, kurtas, lehengas, and the multi panelled swirling angarkhas were in rich bridal shades with the most lavish embroidery that any bridal couple can dream of.
There was obviously a lot of thought given to the different motifs that were splashed all over the saris, lehengas, dupattas, blouses and floor length net covers.
"The essence of this collection resonates with the sensual innocence of the newly wedded bride as she awakes into her first day of her married life, " Kochhar said.
It was a clean-cut high glam evening collection from this design house. Red carpet saris and sophisticated lehengas took centre stage. Diamond dripping chandelier earrings added that final touch of full-on glam. Sequins and fine beading added a look of evening sophistication. Shimmer and Shine was everywhere.
