Tiwari, who was among the strongest contenders on "Rakhi Ka Swayamvar" last year will be seen as Awadh Thakur in NDTV Imagine's new TV show.
When asked about the fact that he used Rakhi Ka Swayamvar as a stepping stone into the world of acting, Manmohan said, "But why is the finger being pointed at me? Even Rakhi was playing a game and if she was not questioned, then why me? She fooled 16 men but thankfully God spared me."
"Jamunia", produced by Beyond Dreams Entertainment Limited, will narrate the story of an orphan girl called Jamunia, whose maternal uncle marries her off into a rich palace for money. The girl is unaware that the palace is cursed and that no woman has ever survived there. What happens to her forms the rest of the plot.
"'Jamunia' is a tale dedicated to every Indian woman who loves her family dearly and is ready to help and support them in any given situation.
It portrays the power of a woman who can go to any extent to save her family from any harm that befalls them. 'Jamunia' exposes the territories and locations never seen on television, " said Yash Patnaik, producer of the show, in a press release.
The show will go on air March 8.
