Les-be-in is Isha's new way of life... at least on the sets of Harry Baweja's shocking film 'Girlfriend' directed by Karan Razdan.
With two lead women and a hero, 'Girlfriend' can be easily passed on as a proverbial Love triangle but it has a minor glitch. Isha as Tania is obsessed with not Armaan (Ashish Chaudhary) but Amrita Arora who plays Sapna.
So is it another Fire in the making?
Though Razdan is reluctant to admit that his film has lesbian overtones but says, "We have scenes where Isha imagines being held or caressed by Amrita. There is a slight hint that Isha's character in the film is a lesbian. But eventually, the two women don't become lovers, because Amrita's character is ‘straight'."
Amrita's take, "This film will be unlike any other that has talked of homosexual relations. But sometimes when Isha hugged me on the sets, I did find it a bit strange."
"The look of sheer sexual delight she had to have on her face was quite disconcerting. Although I have all respect for the way lesbians feel about each other, I personally didn't enjoy it," says Arora junior who plays love interest of both Ashish and Isha.
Isha, who have seen her partner getting scared on being touched sensually, however doesn't feel the same.
"Our society doesn't accept lesbianism. I cannot say if homosexuality should be legalised or not but I do have a lot of respect for gays as human beings. The film reflects the pain and problems of those involved in relationships not accepted by society. Let's wait and see what kind of impact it has," she insists.
