After the numerous cold glances and bland handshakes it seems that the ice between India and Pakistan is finally starting to thaw.
Love is in the air and peace is the only buzzword you can hear from across the border these days. Be it sports, politics or arts, India and Pak are trying to put their differences aside and strike a harmonious chord.
You may credit it to the ongoing track II diplomacy and during our last rendezvous with the General it was Aishwarya Rai, who made the perfect ambassador for peace.
In one of those rare moments, which remain etched in the memory for a long time, Rai confronted General Musharraf via satellite at the India Today Conclave. Addressing an elite Indian dinner audience, Musharraf made a personal plea to Aishwarya not to act in films that projected Pakistan in a bad light.
"I don't think they are realistic at all. You try to ridicule our forces. You overdo it in your movies. I find it to be absurd," he added.
The president was earlier pleasantly surprised when, India Today Editor in-Chief, Aroon Purie, told him that Aishwarya would like to ask a question.
"I am very glad to be asked a question by a leading player from the film world of India," he said.
In reply to her query about the prospect of Indo-Pak peace, Musharraf assured Aishwarya that all sections of Pakistani society wanted peace, interaction and harmonious relations with India.
"There are some extremists in Pakistan and India who are against it. But they are a very small minority." he exclaimed.
Musharraf also answered the queries about Indian and Pakistani film worlds.
