Taking cue from the ongoing Indo-Pak peace efforts, most of our Bollywood icons are trying their share of luck to break the ice between the two nations. While some of them are going gaga over the 'oh-soo-sweet' neighbour here at home, the others have stepped ahead and decided to dazzle the people across the border by their stardom.
Any guesses who was the first one to invade Pakistan? None other than apna Khiladi, Akshay Kumar and accompanying him on this 'goodwill' trip is former girlfriend and leggy lass Shilpa Shetty.
While Kumar won hearts by cracking jokes by switching from English to Urdu to Punjabi it was Shilpa who won the millions of hearts.
During her dance performance on Thursday, Shilpa swayed Indian and Pakistani flags together and kissed the latter.
"It was neither planned nor choreographed. It was simply an innocent gesture symbolising the current state of peace and friendship between India and Pakistan. I'm looking forward to a time when we will be able to come together without fearing consequences," she said while talking to the reporters.
Unable to stop her excitement she went further to say, "I'm so very happy. Visiting Pakistan was something I've always wanted to do. I had heard so much about the Pakistanis. And really, this experience has been beyond my wildest expectations."
"Bollywood has never produced any movie to intentionally hurt Pakistanis. If unintentionally, we have hurt your sentiments, on behalf of the Indian film fraternity, I apologise to everyone today. Never has it been our intention, not in the past nor in future."
Kumar and actress Shilpa Shetty both felt the trip was too short. Both promised to return. "We are working to bring people together. Give us love. We ask for nothing more," said Shilpa.
