"I chose to use the subject of lesbian love for my line because it is an important issue and the message I wanted to give to my audience was that when a husband can love his wife...why can't a woman love another woman?" Mahajan told after the show here Saturday.
"I want the world to realise that we should not shy away from accepting the fact that love need not to happen between opposite sex...so we just accept gay people as a part of our society rather than ignoring their presence, " she added.
Mahajan through her collection paid ode to a fictional character Lata - a woman who exists and who we want to see or do not wish to see because she is a lesbian.
On the ramp, the models held hands and embraced each other to profess their love for each other.
"My show showed that love between two woman is natural. They are so happy with each other yet they can't be happy because the society doesn't allows them to be so, " Mahajan explained.
The range had hand printed long and loose garments with even strokes. The colour palette was dark and fabrics like hand woven silks, tussars, silks and cotton were used.
