A tribute to middle class India, "Saluun" is based on a true incident. Set in a small town in Maharashtra, the film depicts how the common people teache a lesson to corrupt government officials.
The film is Nikhil Nagesh Bhat's first directorial venture and he gives credit to whole team for its success.
"I realized that storytelling is not one person's medium. Here, every person's opinions and thoughts matter. I feel, the entire team, everybody, just fell in place and 'Saluun' happened. It's an honour for me to showcase my debut film on such an important international platform, " Bhat said in a statement.
The film stars Gaurav Kapur, Razak Khan, Sakshi Tanwar, Brijendra Kala, Murli Sharma, Gayatri Choudhuri and Arindam Mitra.
Directed by Saeed Akhtar Mirza, "Ek Tho Chance" stars Purab Kohli, Amrita Arora, Rajat Kapoor, Vinay Pathak and others.
According to the director, the movie is a simple narrative but speaks volumes about human nature. "The most difficult part of filmmaking is to depict a simple story in an extraordinary way. I am still learning the art."
The festival begins April 9.
