Remember Meghna Naidu from 'Hawas'? The girl who swept you away with her dare bare performance.
Meghna's assets may have won her a hit like Hawas but it's her that very asset which has cost her a film as well. Director Karan Razdan, who pitched her in for the leading role due to her hot bod has dumped her from his next film, '16-17'.
Reason?
"She's too old to play the lead in '16-17'," maintains Razdan.
"The film is the story of a 16-year-old girl and I would have loved Meghna to do it. She did excellent work in 'Hawas' and I'm very impressed with her acting abilities. While she's qualified in every other way, unfortunately she doesn't look young enough. I am therefore keeping my options open," he adds.
Dejected Meghna is obviously heartbroken.
"Every actress wants to portray a character younger than herself. I am a little over 20 and would love to be cast as a 16-year-old," she says.
If you still can't get an idea how desperate she is to play this role, listen to this one.
"A little cosmetic change and I can look as young as Razdan wants me to. One thing's for sure - the audience can look forward to more steamy action than 'Hawas'. Other actresses may find the kind of roles they do challenging, but for me it is in films like 'Hawas' and 'Husn' that the real challenge lies," she gushes.
Hey Razdan, don't be so rude! Give her another chance, at least for the frontbenchers.
