In a bizarre move, the 20-year-old lad has joined politics. Vakil has been appointed as the general secretary of Youth Congress Committee Block 6- Mira Bhayander City (District).
Apparently, its Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi's recent visit to Mumbai that was instrument in Vakil joining politics.
"I was really inspired by Rahul Gandhi's recent visit to the city. He emphasized the need for the youth to join politics. People say that politics is dirty, and then it ought to be cleaned. That's why I've decided to join politics. We need the youth to join politics to change the rot in our system, " said Vakil.
When asked as to what issues he'll take up, Vakil replied, "Corruption is the biggest menace that plagues our system. Besides, the basic problems such as water scarcity, no electricity don't often reach the authorities. It's my responsibly to take these issue to the concerned authorities"
Will acting now take a back seat?
"No, I'll manage both. Politics is a 24 hour job and you must be prepared to serve the public whenever needed. Acting is a means of earning your daily bread but I'll manage both, if anything good comes up on TV or film, I'll definitely take it up, " the 20-year-old concluded.
We wish the actor very best in his political career.
