Anusha and her sisters have had NRI upbringings. While Anusha is a renowned VJ, Apeksha has tried her had at solo singing and Shibani has been a TV host and a model on American television.
"The decision to work together stems from our love for music and art. It just seemed like the right thing to do and it has worked well for us.
The three of us have different talents — dancing, singing and performing. With D Major, we want to give audiences a perfect blend of them all"
They tasted success as a band with their first live performance in Bangkok and plan to come up with their first album in India. The trio seems to have been inspired by different genres of music and their album which has pop, R&B, hip hop, Marathi and more reflects that inspiration.
The girls are all set to make their mark and are all positive about the success of their band. "Bands have never been a big draw in India unless they play rock.
Solo acts are still the preferred musical route for most musicians. But with D-Major, we are trying to bridge that gap. We want to be the first successful Indian girl band and don't intend to dissolve anytime soon, " says Anusha.
