The only ones supporting Modi are the IPL team owners. One of them is Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty-Kundra who is among the stake holders of Rajasthan Royals, a team which Modi is alleged to financial interest in.
Shilpa is among the jury of Star Plus reality show Zara nachke dikha 2. The show's press conference was held today but the media couldn't help but ask Shilpa about what she felt about her friend Lalit Modi and whether he's guilty of the serious charges levied again him.
"I don't want to be rude or curt, I just want to say that it is an IT probe and not a media probe. I think things have been over-politicised, " told Shilpa Shetty, who is the co-owner of Indian Premier League (IPL) Rajasthan Royals tea.
"I know that's a word we too conveniently use to get out of a situation, but it is true in this case and in the current scenario, " she said.
"I really don't want to say anything, as we just came as investors in the second year and everything seemed perfectly fine and it still is.
As far as RR is concerned, Rajasthan Royals board is completely above board and that's what I would like to maintain, " she added.
The actress said Lalit Modi is yet to be proven guilty.
"I would also like to say that till you are proven guilty, you are not guilty. You have to appreciate the fact that IPL has brought lots of name and revenue to this country. And I think Lalit Modi has done a great job.
If there is something murky and there is proof, then let the law take its course and legal action must be taken but as of now let's not jump the gun, " Shilpa said.
