After spending over 25 years in filmmaking, Jagmohan Mundhra is now awaiting the release of his new film Chase. Excerpts.

Tell us something about Chase?
Chase a movie launched by Maverick Production is the story of Sohail who is caught in a trap set by some of the most influential people in the city and is wrongly accused of murder. Sohail is on the run from the police as he wants to catch the real culprits and get acquitted in the murder case. The film stars Anuuj Saxena, Udita Goswami, Tarina Patel,Aditya Raj Kapoor, Shweta Menon and Rajesh Khattar.

Do you think the audience will appreciate the film?
I think it depends on the audience entirely. I have put in a lot of efforts to make an action, thriller movie Chase. I am sure the audience will not be disappointed when they see the movie as it covers all aspects which the audience expects to be present in a movie.

Why did you choose Srinagar to shoot for one song sequence?
If I wanted I could have shot for this song in Mauritius or Switzerland. But Srinagar and Kashmir both places hold a special place in my heart. After a lot of discussions with the rest of the movie crew we shot the song sequences in Srinagar.

We have described the beautiful flora and fauna of Srinagar in the song we shot there. It was such a great experience to shoot the beautiful rivers, flowers, valleys, mountains etc in Srinagar that we never felt that there was danger surrounding us.

Tell us something about the star-cast of the movie.
Everyone has done a great job in the movie. All the star-cast were extremely hard-working and dedicated during the shooting. The audience will love to see Anuuj and Udita doing the action stunts. I am sure they will also like the acting done by Tarina, Rajesh and Aditya.

There was a certain speculation about you having a rift with actor Anuuj Saxena...
No, there is absolutely no problem between me and actor Anuuj. When two people from different and varied backgrounds work together, certain differences of opinion are bound to happen, but it's a trivial matter and it's in the past.

You have been highly appreciated for making women-oriented movies. Could you elaborate on it?
I have always been drawn towards making movies with an unusual storyline, especially making movies on socially relevant issues. I believe that movies are a powerful medium to educate the masses on our prevailing social issues and conditions.

Apart from Chase what are your other projects?
Apartment will be releasing soon, and Naughty @ 40 will be released later.

We heard that you are keen on making a movie on Sonia Gandhi?
Yes, I am very keen to make a movie based on the life of Congress chief Sonia Gandhi. The talks are on about making the movie, hopefully the plans should be materialized soon.
