Mani Ratnam's Raavana may not be screened in the esteemed IIFA awards as was earlier decided.
The fact
that IIFA is all set to take place in Sri Lanka has resulted in a controversy for the South Film fraternity. Owing to the
sensitive situation which resulted due to the civil War most Tamil actors and eminent personalities have decided to
boycott the award ceremony.
Mani too decided to call of the screening of his film at the award ceremony after the Tamil film fraternity ignored
invitations from the IIFA. There was an official confirmation from Mani's office that Raavana had nothing to do with the
IIFA.
The film maker's office and home in Chennai were also under the possibilities of being besieged if at all he decided to
go ahead with the screening.
