Neha Dhupia is 'Back'. Back to, where she started from. Yes.. we mean nudity but this time only at the back.
Featuring as a High society call girl in Deepak Shivdasani's 'Julie', Neha is baring her immaculate spine for the viewers' pleasure but please don't be too greedy, she urges.
"I admit, I have exposed my back, till my waist. But that is it. No frontal nudity for me. Julie is not a porn film, nor does the role demand the actress to go topless."
"In fact, we want women to watch the film because the film revolves around a woman. They'd be able to identify with the goings-on in the narrative. And as far as exposing the back is concerned, haven't other actresses done it in the past?" she asks.
Given the challenges in portraying such a complex role, Neha is fairly proud with the outcome of her performance as a street girl.
"How often do we get an opportunity to portray such challenging roles? I am so glad that I got such an opportunity so early in my career. I didn't think twice when Deepak narrated the script to me. I was well aware the kind of scenes I was required to do. In fact, I did a lot of homework before I approached this character," she confides.
But the fun for the frontbenchers doesn't end here. Expect to hear a lot of 'ceetees', when the former Miss India locks lips with Sanjay Kapoor.
"What's the big deal? Aren't times changing," she retorts.
The smooch is a pivotal part of the narrative. It's not been included for mere titillation. Like I said, I was well aware of the scenes before we started shooting. In any case, the scenes have been shot aesthetically," adds Dhupia.
We don't mind anything you do Ms Dhupia. With a back like that who needs the front.. Huh?
