Anurag Basu to direct Twinkle Khanna for a mobile ad

She had done one ad for a soft drink many years back, and now the former actress will face the camera after a gap of nine years.

She was last seen in the 2001 release Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega. According to sources, Twinkle will be part of the cell phone brand Akshay endorses.

Anurag Basu is directing the ad film today. The director and Mrs Khiladi had a creative meeting last week. The 'model' was happy with the concept and excited about working with Anurag.

Twinkle was initially reluctant to do the commercial. After giving up acting, she has been shunning the limelight and revelling in her new role as a businesswoman. However, hubby Akshay convinced her to get on board.

A source says, "When Akki heard the concept, he convinced her to do it. He was sure that she fit the creative note and the concept was good. It was only at his insistence that she finally gave her nod."

Just the beginning
In the past, Anurag has directed a commercial with Shah Rukh where he was dressed as an old man. However, his project with Twinkle will be simple. A source says, "It's a fun ad and will show the glamorous and funny side of Twinkle."

The source adds that now Twinkle might do some more commercials, "She keeps getting offers even though she has stayed away from films. But now Akshay has been asking her to do more ads."
