The director and producer Biswaroop received a notice from Vidhu saying that they had allegedly not only copied the script but also the voice over for the famous character Chatur from the movie 'The 3 Idiots' given by Omi Vaidya.
Director Chowdhary's animated film talks about memory enhancement techniques and is also being screened for the students of the schools of the local city Montessori.
Chopra has accused Chowdhary on account of using the name of the original movie, its story including screenplay, dialogues, characters etc and has also promoted and publicized the movie banking on the original movie's name.
The notice has asked them to immediately stop advertising, promoting and publicizing the movie and prevent using the name, characters, screenplay etc of 'The 3 Idiots' "in any manner through any medium or media for any event". Chopra was upset with this violation of copyright and warns of using strict measures under the negligence of this notice.
However, Chowdhary of the Guinness book of records fame contradicted these accusations saying that he did not find anything in the movie 'The 4th Idiot' that would even remotely violate Vidhu's copyright to his film.
He also claimed that the message that he was trying to give through his film was completely different from Vidhu's 'The 3 Idiots'. His film urged students to follow their mind over their hearts unlike Chopra's film that propagated heart over mind.
