The film Raajneeti has already become the talk of the town with such a controversial topic and its ensemble star cast.
The role played by Katrina is continuously speculated to have been inspired by the Congress leader Sonia
Gandhi and this news has also added to the publicity of the film. But the filmmakers have constantly denied this news
and rubbished it as rumors.
It is known that any publicity is good publicity but who knew that Prakash Jha will
have to pay a hefty price for these rumors.
A social worker, Naseem Khan, has slapped a lawsuit on Prakash Jha on account of degradation of the Congress
leader Sonia Gandhi.
He has stated in his lawsuit that since the role played by Katrina is based on the life of
Sonia Gandhi, it is not appropriate to show her in intimate scenes with Ranbir Kapoor and that the film makers are
amalgamating the image of the respected leader.
Prakash Jha is tired of the speculations and rumors and has repeatedly denied that the role played by Katrina is
inspired by any living person individually.
He says that Raajneeti is a film about a family with a political
background and about their journey to rise to power. He considers Sonia Gandhi as a figure who would inspire many
but is not exactly what Katrina plays in the film.
The court has adjourned the hearing till the 10th of June. The
film's release won't be affected and it will release on the scheduled day i.e. 4th of june.
The film has gone for censorship and the court will give its verdict after having gone through the censor reports which
will take a few days. Meanwhile Jha's lawyers are handling the case and will make sure that everything goes smooth.
