It seems like a season of litigations. The Kurla metropolitan magistrate court has directed the registrar to issue summons against film actress Rakhee Gulzar.
As per the FIR registered in the Chembur police station on May 8, 1999, Chandulal Patel, proprietor of Rahul Earth Mover Private Ltd, had accused Rakhee of forging a logbook and refusing to pay the Rs 2 lakh she owed him.
Patel had alleged that Rakhee approached him in 1997 to cut grass and level the terrain at her Basanti Farm Earthfile Agro Horticulture farmhouse near Panvel.
Both parties signed a contract and as per the agreement, Rakhee was supposed to sign a logbook in Patel's presence, every day. Patel says that on the last date of the contract, Rakhee made some changes in the log book in his absence. This, he said, amounted to forging.
He added, "When I went to collect the money, she told me to sign a receipt for Rs 50,000 only. She said she could not pay me the whole amount at one go, but promised to pay the money later.
"I cancelled the receipt and informed her that I would give her the receipt for the entire money as soon as she made the full payment.
When contacted Rakhee said, "I have not received any summons. I do not know any Chandulal Patel. Until I know the facts of the said case I will not be able to say anything."
