It is a well known fact that in Ashutosh Gowarikar's career as a director, two of the six movies that he has directed, were time periods. And now, he is about to come up with one more movie titled Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se, which is also based on the earlier times.

It is highly noticeable that these time period movies are the ones that got him recognition and fame in the film industry. His first two movies Pehla Nasha and Baazi didn't do well at the box office. His next film Lagaan, which was based on the period of 1890, earned him fame.

Also, Jodha Akbar, based on the times of Mughal Emperors, managed to attain both the audiences' approval as well as the critical acclaim. Swades was the only movie based on the modern times that worked well at the box office. In fact, his last movie What's Your Raashi flopped at the box office.

Could Ashutosh's obvious success with the movies of historical eras be the reason why his next venture Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se, is again a movie based on the 1930's?

This Abhishek Bachchan and Deepika Padukone starrer film is said to be a periodic thriller based on the 1930 Chittagong Uprising. Ashutosh has revealed that the story for this film has been inspired by Manini Chatterjee's novel 'Do and Die'.

Well Ashutosh, as long as we get to see some real great film, you won't find us complaining!
