It's a fan's dream come true. And Sanjay Gupta couldn't be happier. The director is getting to meet Guy Ritchie and work with his crew.
Gups plans to get behind the camera for the remake of a Spanish film Ladron que roba a ladron. Titled Khote Sikkey, the film will be entirely shot in the UK.
Sanjay says, "This is the first time one of my films will be based in England. We're in pre-production and I'm working out the details. The film deals with Indians settled abroad and how the post-/11 era affects their lives."
He adds, "I am a huge fan of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Rocknrolla and all of Guy's other work. I think he and Tarantino are two filmmakers I can identify with.
Ritchie has a fixed set of people around him -- mostly actors that work with him in all his films. Since my film is based in London I plan to cast them for the film. My agents are presently working out the details and I will be shortly making a trip to meet them."
Looking forward to shoot in London for the first time, he says, "I love London, there's something unique about that place. I will be shifting base to London and also opening an office there. It will be a long complicated shoot for me to capture the ever changing skyline of the city." Gupta last directed Dus Kahaaniya (2007).
