Actor-director Kamal Haasan has a reputation for breaking new ground in cinema. Stepping away from Bollywood`s typical song-and-dance routines, the versatile actor has played a host of unconventional roles ranging from mafia don to midget and even an elderly governess.
And now, Haasan is preparing for yet another unusual role - or rather a double role - of a schizophrenic and a security force commander.Apart from playing the lead roles of the twin brothers, Haasan is also the storywriter of the fast-paced psycho-thriller,Abhay, based on a Tamil novel written by him 17 years ago.Haasan says the novel was inspired by his childhood friend, who suffered a mental illness and spent time in an asylum. The friend died three years ago.
