He needs to put make-up on, liberally, as he is supposed to be dark and ugly in the current show. He says, "It takes almost 2 and half hours to apply the make-up and get ready for the shoot and another half hour to take it all off. It has traditionally been the girls who take a longer time to get ready while the male leads keep waiting. But here it's exactly the opposite as the females have to wait for me. (laughs)."
Why take so long to get ready as it's just the dark color that has to be applied? "No it's not just the color. If we had applied only the color then the audience would have been able to catch it as it would not have looked authentic.
Our make-up man has really made a great effort to make me look different. It's actually a solution with black color that is sprayed on my face which then directly goes in to the pores of the skin and do not stick to it. It looks much more realistic onscreen." explains Swapnil.
Well, changing a fair guy into an ugly Joe can be called creativity as well!
