Thanks to Deepak Shivdasani's Julie, filmmakers in Bollywood are now scurrying for fresh ideas to make their sleaze flicks stand out. But are there any more plots left?
Prostitutes are overworked in Bollywood and philandering wife's sex romps are reaching its saturation level as well. But as they say, when the going gets tough the tough gets going.
Amongst all the chaos, the debutant director Sanjay Zaveri has just found a right recipe to titillate you once again.
"Women are getting bolder these days and so can men", he proclaims but with a caution, "Fun - Can Be Dangerous Sometimes."
"I need to draw the audience to theatres. What works these days is subjects like Murder or Julie. That's why I've chosen husband swapping as the subject for my film. It's a story of three girls bored with married life looking for thrill outside by swapping their husbands," says Zaveri.
Ask him, if he knows the implications of opening this new genre of sleaze and he retorts, "Don't worry, the hot scenes in my film will be shot aesthetically."
"My choice of subject was influenced by reality as incidents of husband-swapping are taking place in hi-society, where men don't have time for their wives."Payal Rohatgi who stars opposite Aryan Vaid in 'Fun', vindicates Sanjay's point and gushes, "People who come to see cleavage, smooching and sex on screen aren't just rickshawallas but also the young in crowd. Moreover, I'm at the threshold of my career and catering to the demands of my job and the audience."
'Fun' also marks the debut of Manisha Koirala's brother, Siddhartha Koirala, who plays the lead role in the film as well.
