Considering the theme of the movie, people might have expected it to run into trouble with the government. However, the Union Home Secretary G K Pillai has given green signal to Lamhaa saying that they don't want to stall the release of the movie.
Produced by Bunty Walia, the movie stars, Sanjay Dutt, Bipasha Basu, Anupam Kher and Kunal Kapoor. Lamhaa is scheduled to hit theaters on July 16.
The movie deals with the story of a soldier essayed by Sanjay Dutt and a Kashmiri girl, played by Bipasha Basu. Bipasha is playing the love interest of Dutt, where she has shown her de-glamorized avatar.
There is no plan to ban Lamhaa or create problems for its release. He added, "Our security forces can handle the situation, they are in place." According to the home secretary, the problem cannot be solved by banning or stalling the movie.
Pillai further added, "India is a democratic country and everyone has the right to speak up and state their views. I am sure that the release of this kind of movies cannot increase the existing problem."
The director is also happy with the statement made by the Union Home Secretary. Dholakia said, "The government has taken the right decision. The time has come when we should develop an atmosphere of trust to solve the problems in the burning valley of Kashmir."
Dholakaia added that his movie does not reflect the views of the government; it tries to show the plight of the residents in Kashmir. It is not even dealing with the outlook of India or Pakistan on the matter. He informed, "We are just showcasing the conditions of the residents of the beautiful valley. I hope the movie does well. "
