Veteran actress Dame Helen Mirren has denied reports that she will reprise her role as Queen Elizabeth II in a new film about Indira Gandhi.

Mirren, who won an Academy Award for her portrayal of Elizabeth II in the 2006 movie "The Queen", was lined up to tackle the role again in "Mother: The Indira Gandhi Story", a two-part biopic about the Indian prime minister, who was assassinated in 1984.

She has no interest in taking part in a new biopic, express.co.uk reported.

"No, no. I'm not interested in biopics or anything of the sort, " Mirren said.

"Mother: The Indira Gandhi Story" will be directed by Krishna Shah and is scheduled for release later this year.
