The actor is going steady with Ritika Jolly, his girlfriend of two years. Says he'll pop the question when the time's right
Sammir Dattani is a die-hard romantic, much like Raj, the character he plays in today's big release, I Hate Luv
Storys. And like Raj, the actor, too, has found love in his girlfriend of two years: Ritika Jolly, an aspiring writer with a
corporate background.
Mutual feeling
In real life, Dattani's a regular guy. About his love story, he reveals, "It was a mutual feeling. We both started off as
friends and in time, realised we were more than just that. Then she went away for a while, and we got back only to
realise that what we have is love."
In the film, Sammir plays someone who loves to go all out to express his love to the girl. About his character, he
says, "I play an investment banker totally in love with Sonam. We are very happy together, to the point that we
coordinate our clothes. I even send a flower every day to remind her of our love."
Does he do the same in real life? "No, I don't send flowers every day or color coordinate our clothes, but I do make
sure I pamper Ritika as much as possible. Even though we both have busy schedules, we make it a point to spend
time together."
Do they plan to exchange rings soon? Reveals the actor, "We plan to talk about it when the time is right. Timing is
everything."
Ritika who attended a private trial of the film Wednesday night, was quite happy with the film. Gushes Sammir, "Yes
she loved it, and am so glad she had a good time!"
Sammir's tips to keep the romance alive
>> If you have to propose, there's nothing like the classic going down on a bended knee and doing it. It will be a
memorable moment all your life.
>> Pamper your girl to death. Surprise her, take her out, buy things that make her happy
>> Recreate the on screen cheesy romance by going out on a long drive, listening to romantic songs. Every girl
wants to do that.
>> You can never go wrong with a quiet romantic dinner. Just the two of you talking about silly things and spending
quality time together.
>> The most important thing is to be faithful. No matter what the temptation might be, staying true to your partner is
the biggest thing.
