Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan immortalized the character of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan in the 1990's movie
Agneepath. After two decades, filmmaker Karan Johar is going to revive the character with today's superstar Hrithik
Roshan.
Although, it was a dream of Big B's son actor Abhishek Bachchan to play the role but he was not even offered.
Hrithik is supposed to be Karan's first choice to play this role, where he will be seen playing an international
gangster. This role of 'Dina Nath' earned a national award for Big B.
The remake version of Agneepath will be directed by Karan Malhotra. Earlier, it was thought that Abhishek will be
playing the role played by his father and Jaya Bachchan will be seen in the role of his mother.
According to the sources, "Abhishek Bachchan was never approached for the role in the remake version. Debutant
Karan Malhotra will be writing and directing the remake of the movie. The character of Hrithik will have an influence of
Al Pacino in 'Scarface'."
The failure of Raavan, Abhishek's recent release, may be one of the causes of not being chosen for the role. The
choice of Hrithik is acceptable given his international looks, which is perfect for the movie as he will play an
international gangster with a chic and happening look. In the original Agneepath, Big B played the role as an Indian
gang lord.
The interesting character of Krishnan Iyer M. A. will be missing in the remake, which was played by another veteran
Bollywood star Mithun Chakraborty.
However, Hrithik will be experimenting with the hoarse dialogue-delivery style of Big B. It is definitely a big challenge
for Hrithik to justify the role, which was popularized by the great actor years before.
