While the Big B may have convinced Aamir Khan to join Twitter, it was Anil Kapoor who gave him a book to help find his way around the microblogging website
By now, it is common knowledge that Amitabh Bachchan convinced Aamir Khan to join Twitter, but not many know
that Anil Kapoor gifted Khan a book about the microblogging site.
It is learnt that Anil loves browsing through bookshops in London during his visits there. On one such visit, he picked
up a book about celebrities on Twitter and why they joined it. The actor was curious to know why so many Indian
and international celebs had accounts on Twitter and so he bought the book.
Jab they met
After coming back to the hotel he leafed through a few pages and found it quite interesting. The following day, he
had a lunch appointment with Aamir, who was also in London.
The subject of putting your views online came up, and Aamir mentioned that Amitabh Bachchan had asked him to
join and he was contemplating doing it. It was then Anil decided to gift him the book.
Says a source close to the actor, "Anil is not interested in tweeting right now, so the book was of no use to him and
he gifted it to Aamir."
Not just that, Anil even gave Aamir that much-needed nudge by telling him that even US President Barack Obama
was active on Twitter. When the 3 Idiots actor returned to Mumbai after that trip, he began tweeting.
Anil confirms, "It's a personal gift and I wouldn't like to discuss the details." Aamir's spokesperson confirms, "Yes.
Aamir was given a book."
