Bappi Lahiri is on everyone's list of people they want to see on the reality show Bigg Boss. The roly-poly music composer has been offered the show twice, but he has turned it down on both occasions. One of the reasons for saying "no" is his girth.
It is learnt that the Bappida needs help to dress in the morning, and for other normal activities that most people manage to do themselves. The singer has a boy 24X7 at home to assist him. And since he cannot take a helper to the show, he will never be seen on it.
Entertaining
In the Bigg Boss house, every inmate has to do their own work and Bappi isn't used to doing anything for himself, so he is not keen to be on the show. The producers of the reality show are eager to have Bappida on board as he would be highly entertaining with his jewellery, flamboyant costumes and his 'Bengali' Hindi.
Lahiri who is currently away in Dubai for a show, says, "Not doing the show has nothing to do with my weight. I have lost a lot of weight now. I am not like stars who need their boys to put on their shoes and tie their laces! I can dress myself."
Family man
He adds, "I do have my boy who is with me all the time but he's more of an assistant/helper. Also, I am very attached to my family and can't stay without them.
I am also attached to my boy Santosh, make- up guy, dress man, my bodyguard and manager. I need them around me all the time because if I have any work main usske andar ghuss jaata hoon and they prevent me from getting distracted!"
He continues, "I am the king of my own house! My boy gets water for me to drink. I can't make a cup of tea myself let alone cook, why should I go to BB to make food for myself and others?"
However, he confirms that he has been asked to participate in the show.
"I was invited to be a part of the first two seasons of Bigg Boss, but I couldn't go because I didn't have the dates. I have my shootings, two films awaiting release, performances and live recordings.
I can't drop everything and be locked up in the house. Now after my Dubai show, I will fly to Los Angeles to release my album on Michael Jackson -- a tribute to MJ called Don't Say Goodbye. I lead a very busy life and it's impossible for me to allot dates for three months to BB."
