Action director Allan Amin is working closely with the US-based Taurus Academy to open a stunt school in Mumbai. In 2006, the Taurus World Stunt Awards nominated Amin for his work in Dhoom 2. Now, the Academy has approached him to head a stunt school in the city.
The fight director, presently working on the Italian Job remake, wants to sign Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty and South actor Akkineni Nagarjuna as brand ambassadors for the school.
Allan reveals, "The Taurus Stunt Academy want to branch out in India and have approached me to set up a stunt school here for them. I think it's a great idea because they have some of the best stunt coordinators in the world."
In these days of branding, he knows that getting big names associated with his academy will give it the necessary push and has zeroed in on Sunil Shetty, Akshay Kumar and Nagarjuna, with whom he has a long-standing association.
"Akshay and Sunil have both performed some daredevil stunts in many of their films and are the right faces to represent the school. Both of them believe in performing their own stunts and have never used doubles. Nagarjuna has also shown interest in being involved."
Despite his commitment to films, Allan plans to now focus on making this school a reality. "It will be a great platform for aspiring action directors."
