Filmmaker Anjan Dutta wants to move away from his signature youth films to work on adult themes. "I want to work
on adult themes now, not just intellectually adult, but also physically, " said Dutta discussing his upcoming movie
"Nine Miles".
"Nine Miles" is a thriller on the political issue of world terrorism and mercy killing. The story line revolves around an
aged doctor, his young wife, a trekker and a bungalow in Jorpokhri near Darjeeling. The film also has the ambience
of a psychological thriller.
Dutta is also excited about his upcoming project 'Bhalobasa Kare Koy'. The film is more of a psychological thriller
with a highly potent mixture of adultery and sex. The movie revolves around an extra-marital relationship.
"The audience wants to see such kind of movies, " he said. "Currently I have made a movie on a Byomkesh Bakshi
series. If this Byomkesh movie works, I will try and do one Byomkesh film a year, " added Dutta.
Byomkesh is one of the most popular fictional detective characters of Bengali literature created by writer Sharadindu
Mukhopadhyay.
