Once Upon A Time In Mumbai saw a lot of drama off screen too Milan Luthria was shooting at a seedy bar in Reay Road when a lady don strolled on to the sets and insisted on meeting Ajay Devgn.

When a production crew member informed her that Ajay had wrapped up for the day and left the sets, she got abusive and even slapped him. She threatened to burn up Ajay's van if she was not paid enough money to leave the sets.

The production team realised that Ajay's van is more valuable than the amount she was asking for and so paid up.

In another incident, Milan was shooting with Emraan in Dongri, when the residents turned up to meet the star. Members of two rival gangs also showed up and began fighting. It took a lot of diplomatic effort on the part of the crew to break up the fight and see that shooting was not delayed much.

Despite these hassles, Milan believes it was worth it and the real locations have enhanced the film.
