For the past couple of days Karan Johar has been in London, 'holidaying and working on his script', it was reported.
But according to the buzz, the actual reason for Karan's trip is not to write scripts, relax or even have dinner with Shah Rukh, his wife Gauri and superstar Aamir Khan.
He flew away to London on Friday, reportedly to direct some romantic scenes, including a song, for Ra.One, featuring the Shah Rukh and Bollywood beauty Kareena Kapoor.
Shah Rukh tweeted Karan's arrival saying, "Been hectic days...with shoot going all around. Today Karan came to shoot...making him attend some action stuff, he looks most out of place."
Apparently Shah Rukh was not too keen to let the film's director Anubhav Sinha, who has earlier directed films like Dus and Cash, direct these crucial scenes and there have been 'reports' of arguments between the two.
SRK of course didn't even blink at these reports and tweeted, "Anubhav & RA.ONE team has worked so hard...I will always be indebted to them for this experience as an actor & producer. Most awesome. Thanks"
Purported to be the most expensive film ever produced by Shah Rukh's production house Red Chillies Entertainment, the King Khan, it seems, didn't want to take any risks and so KJo was imported from India to 'assist' in the direction of some scenes and songs.
"Made karan attend the shooting...he is too sweet...so excited to be part of film making & wishes me so well, its very touching, " he tweeted on Sunday.
There have been reports that the filming unit has been divided into two parts one filming the romantic scenes and songs ghost directed by Karan; meanwhile the other continuing with the rest of the filming lead by Sinha.
To explain this two-unit filming formula, Shah Rukh, on Monday, tweeted, "Rains...shooting action & montages together. 2 units...location demands etc. Karan assisting us for a day.hopefully we will make the schedule."
Perhaps with the continuing rise of his 'arch-rival' Aamir Khan, and with so much resting on his next film after a somewhat lacklustre My Name Is Khan (MNIK), Shah Rukh, it seems, wants to bet on a winning horse, for, the KJo-SRK pair, despite their MNIK, has never actually bombed at the Box Office.
