Indipop star Gurdas Maan's latest film "Desh Ho Ya Pardes" in Punjabi is set for worldwide
release Nov 15.
The English version of the film is titled "Political Asylum", Maan's New Jersey impresario Kashmir Gill
said. Mann, meanwhile, left for India Sunday after an eight-city US tour that was a sell-out at every
stop, Gill said.
According to him, Maan's concert at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark Aug 21 was an
"awesome performance".
"Everything was live. He is pure energy and rhythm. There was no sync of lips to canned music," Gill
added.
Although Maan is best known as the pioneer of pop bhangra, his film credits are impressive.
Some of the movies he has starred in are "Mamla Gadbad Hai", "Long Da Lashkara", "Ki Banu Duniya
Da", "Chhora Haryana Da", "Qurbani Jatt Di", "Ucha Dar Babbe Nanak Da", "Pratigya", "Kachehri",
"Dushmani Di Agg", "Baghaavat", "Gabroo Punjab Da" and "Shaheed-E-Mohabbat".
