Udaan protagonist Rajat Barmecha is riding high on the acclaim the film has received. Understandably, he wants director Vikramaditya Motwane and producer Anurag Kashyap to continue playing 'guru' to him.
Aap okay karo!
Rajat wants Vikram and Anurag to guide his career and give him advice on the offers coming his way. He says, "I have known Vikram longer than I have known Anurag. Vikram treated me like a part of his family.
And I got to learn a lot from Anurag. I want them to decide what my next film should be. Since I don't know anyone else in the film industry, I have no one else to turn to for advice. I will only accept offers made to me after they okay it."
The newbie has been offered two films but isn't sure if wants to do them, "I was offered those movies before Udaan released, so I am not sure if I want to do them now. But I am open to any kind of cinema as long as I can relate to the character in some way.
The biggest compliment I received for Udaan has been people telling me that they could relate to Rohan. Nothing beats that feeling."
Good times
Barmecha says that everyone from his relatives to college friends have flooded his phone with congratulatory messages. While Rajat's parents live in Delhi, he's made Mumbai his home for the last three years.
"They are happy in Delhi and they don't want to move here with me. They were here during the film's release. They loved Udaan very much and claimed they would have liked it even if someone else had played my role!"
