From celebrities to the common man, a large number of people have expressed solidarity with the Leh victims. More than 200 people are still missing following the disaster on Friday.
Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra, who had spent lots of days at Leh in her childhood, is praying for the safety of the people in the beautiful place. "I have such amazing memories of Leh. My dad was posted there in 94. I mean I was a kid but I remember so clearly running barefoot and carefree, " she tweeted.
Priyanka wrote: "On the stunning hills surrounding our army base. going to the Market with my mom..I'm deeply affected by the mudslide in Leh..I pray for them."
She also announced via Twitter that she and her family are trying to help the victims there.
"Victims and their families.. Me and my family are doing our best to offer help..if u can..in ur smallest way..it would help, " said she.
"Horrid, Horrid Horrid ! The cloud burst in Ladakh ! Our prayers and condolences for those in distress and those that lost their lives, " Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan tweeted.
But it is not only celebs, even the common man expressed his concern over the people sufferring in Leh.
"It breaks my heart everytime I think of what happened in Leh, " posted Ankit Jindal.
Another concerned Twitter user Paachi Singh remarked: "Please pray 4 people who r suffering in leh. Please pray 4 dem. Please."
"Save the children in Leh helping affected children and their families, " tweeted Shreya Narayanan.
About 7, 500 army and other personnel are trying to dig out bodies and bring life in Leh back to normal. Indian Air Force planes have brought relief materials including 5, 000 blankets, 75 tarpaulins and a team of nurses to the area, reports said.
