Sohail Khan is no more his superstar brother's business mediator. Apparently, the two brothers, who remain extremely close personally, have decided to keep Salman's financial dealings out of their personal relationship.
Sallu has now hired the services of Atul Kasbekar's Matrix India Entertainment Consultants to take care of all his business transactions. This is the same company that also looks after Katrina Kaif's business dealings.
Deal-breaker
This decision to keep the personal and professional aspect apart was taken after Salman felt he was not getting a good enough deal on Dus Ka Dum.
Says a source, "Sony Entertainment had all but sealed the deal with Salman (Sohail was negotiating the deal). Then the actor felt he was not getting a good enough deal and Sony was back to the negotiation board, this time with Matrix chairing the meeting."
Apparently, Matrix will now negotiate all of Salman's business deals, including film assignments. So far, Sohail did most of Salman's business transactions.
Re-negotiations
While refusing to comment on the behind-the-scenes negotiations between Sony Entertainment and Salman Khan, Sony's business head Ajit Thakur admits that there have been some serious re-negotiations between the two parties.
Says Thakur, "We had an extremely rewarding partnership with Salman for two seasons of Dus Ka Dum. And we'd love to have him back. Unfortunately, the first round of negotiations fell through. But we still have our doors open for Salman. We will talk to whoever he wants us to."
Adds Reshma Shetty of Matrix, "Yes, we've been managing Salman's business dealings for some time now."
