Director Anurag Kashyap's critically acclaimed movie Gulaal, which was released in March 2009, involved a huge
bloodshed, political drama, election rigging and the struggle for democratic power.
With its diverse ingredients, the movie attracted a lot of viewers of all age groups. It received positive reviews from the
critics. All these have probably inspired the director Anurag Kashyap to think of a sequel of this Kay Kay Menon starrer
movie.
Gulaal showed the changing student political scenario in Jaipur. It has been more than a year the movie was released.
And now, the University of Rajasthan in Jaipur is preparing for a student election again after six years. Earlier, High
Court banned the polls in University due to a writ. But this new information regarding the polls has also incited Kashyap
to make Gulaal 2.
Anurag also co-authored the script of the movie and is now thinking of visiting Jaipur to grab the scenario as much as he
can.
A source close to the director was quoted saying that Anurag is always interested to make movies inspired by reality so
this news of elections in Jaipur inspired him to start work on it.
We hope the director does justice to the sequel as he did in the original Gulaal.
