Producer J.D. Majethia, who is busy promoting his forthcoming film "Khichdi - The Movie", says it would have been more appropriate if he had got a chance to play Akshay Kumar's role in 'Waqt', which was originally performed by Majethia in his play.

Filmmaker Vipul Shah's movie "Waqt" starred Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra.

"When I was watching the movie I felt that it would have been the best experience to perform that role on the big screen as it was so close to my heart when I acted in my play, " said Majethia in a statement.

The producer has earlier done shows like "Khichdi", "Instant Khichdi" and "Baa, Bahu Aur Baby".

"Khichdi - The Movie" has been written and directed by Aatish Kapadia and stars actors like Anang Desai, Supriya Pathak and Girish Sahdev, who were also seen on the small screen version.

The film also features actor Satish Shah and has a special appearance by choreographer and filmmaker Farah Khan. The film will be released by Fox Star Studios Oct 1.
