The dreaded disease has enriched her and made stronger than earlier. The 38 year old actress, who started her career as a fashion model, got diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2009 June. Then she began her first cycle of treatment within a month.
In 2010 April, the beautiful actress announced that she is free from cancer after a stem cell transplant. Lisa starred in the Oscar nominated Hindi movie 'Water' and earned a lot of appreciation for her performance as a widow in this movie. She is participating in this year's Toronto International Film Festival, which has started on September 10.
Ray was quoted saying that she is just re-launching herself into acting. Lisa said that after that treatment, she feels more confident and strong in mind, body and spirit. Even though, she feels good now, the actress said that it has not been so easy to bear the pain related to the disease.
Lisa is now in the process of developing a TV documentary series and she is hoping to interview people from Canada for this. She will show the people facing the threatening challenges and who have survived it. She thinks that her life is unfolding in totally new and unanticipated ways.
Hope, this second innings of the actress brings her more success and happiness in life!
