"It shall be one of the proudest moments for me when the President of India shall decorate Abhishek and me along with all the other most deserving winners, " he wrote in his blog.
Amitabh Bachchan also thanked the director R Balki for creating a movie like 'Paa'.
"This is just tremendous! I am delighted of course on the results, but have to say that all this would never have been possible without the courage and vision of one man - R Balki, the director, " he said.
"It was Balki's idea and thought that first got me interested and through several sittings we finally arrived at the script and story we wanted to make and the results are now there for all to see, " Big B wrote.
Amitabh Bachchan also thanked all the crew and cast members and their hard works for making 'Paa' get its final 'shape'.
"I feel so honored and humbled by the news today and am particularly happy for the entire cast and crew - Vidya, PC sir and all the wonderful hands that worked tirelessly in giving a final shape to the film, " he mentioned.
Amitabh Bachchan mentioned that he is elated to see that 'Delhi-6' has been awarded 'The Best Film on National Integration' award, where his son Abhishek Bachchan has played the lead role.
"There is another tiding on the Awards. The Best Film on National Integration has gone to 'Delhi 6′. And to have Abhishek as a part of this project too brings immense joy. So yes now it can be safely said - what a day it has been!" he remarked.
Amitabh Bachchan played the critical role of 'Auro' in 'Paa', bagging the 'Best Actor Award'.
The movie has got overall four Naitonal Awards which include: Best Supporting Actress to Arundhati Nag, Best Make-Up, and Best Film (Hindi ).
