With "Terminator IV", the latest sequel to the super successful series, about to start production, speculation is mounting over whether former hero Arnold Schwarzenegger would return to the film.
With Schwarzenegger currently serving as the governor of California, producers are in a fix about the legendary "Terminator" role, so far inseparably identified with him.
According to the Variety magazine, the draft script for the new film has already been readied by "Terminator III" writers John Brancato and Michael Ferris. And groundwork for the film would start in 2005.
"Terminator III" director Jonathan Mostow has already supervised the draft. But the film might have to go on without Schwarzenegger, reports Ananova.
Insiders say that even if Schwarzenegger does return to the sets, it would only be in a limited role as there is likely to be an entirely new "Terminator" model.
