The Delhi-based girl will play the female lead in the show that is about friendly relationship between a mother-in-law and a daughter-in-law.
"'Dance India Dance' changed my life and the offer to play the lead role in a serial is like a dream come true. My passions in life have always been dancing, performing on stage, travelling and learning new things. I am sure acting in a serial will fulfill all of them, " Vandana said in a press statement.
Explaining the reason behind choosing Vandana for the role, Sukesh Motwani, programming head (Fiction), Zee TV said: "Nandini is not the usual protagonist and the character had to be played by someone who is mature, grounded, practical, sincere and very dedicated in real life. Vandana fits the bill very well as we have seen the above- mentioned qualities in her during her stint at 'DID'."
This is not the first time that the channel has given a platform to its reality show contestants. Binny Sharma, who was one of the finalists on "Dance India Dance" too was given a chance in their show "Sanjog Se Bani Sangini".
