Amidst some really grave reviews, the film did face a lot of opposition, from certain officials, due to the gory details depicted in it, as there are violence scenes, women being battered, raped and stuff, which made stomachs rumble in pain for most people.
Thus, this daring show of the most gory and scary details, to say the least, have had quite a few people cry for such scenes in the film, which has led to the deletion of some of the worst reality based scenes from the film, with Ram Gopal Varma's positive nod of course.
Right from the time the film was being promoted, there were constant reminders from the RGV camp, that this film has a lot of violence strewn in it, it is not for the faint hearted etc. But, imagining it to be some sort of a Bollywood flick, everyone was a bit ready to accept whatever the film had to offer in terms of certain camouflaging done by the film makers.
However, as this turned out to be a much bolder and hard hitting flick than ever imagined, it threw everyone into a frenzy, causing most to object to the harsh realities of life.
Well, maybe films are supposed to be a bit of reality spiced up with fantasies of the unrealistic world too, which ultimately made certain scenes to get chopped off from Rakta Charitra.
